What's new
New features and improvements, newest first. Follow @Tickerandtape to hear about them first.
Charts in the community
Attach a picture to any post, or press 💬 Post on a chart to share it exactly as you see it, with your lines and drawings. Every post has its own link with a preview for X and WhatsApp. Mention traders with @name, see the most talked-about stocks in Trending, and pin a post to the top of your profile. The bell now tells you when someone replies, mentions you, follows you or likes your post.
The nightly market recap
Every night the official Ticker&Tape account posts the day in numbers: the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq with their trend, the best and worst sectors, the top gainers and losers and the breakouts from leading stocks, with an image ready to share.
Earnings reaction
Under every chart, a new table shows how the stock moved after each of its last 8 reports: the gap at the open, the change on the day and over the next 5 sessions, next to the EPS surprise, plus its average move on report day.
Pre-market and after hours
Before the open and after the close, the home page now shows the biggest pre-market or after-hours movers among liquid stocks, refreshed every 15 minutes. Share any list as an image with one click. Charts show the extended-hours price as a dashed line and a tag next to the last close.
Member profiles
Every member now has a profile: an @name, first and last name (private unless you choose to show them), an avatar color, country, trading style, experience, a short bio and an optional link to X. Your email is never shown. Profiles show badges earned automatically, such as finishing the trading school. From the account menu you can also see what is public and what is private, and download all your data.
Community
The new Community is a feed where traders share what they are watching: setups, charts and the market. Tag stocks with $TICKER (each tag opens the chart), like and reply to posts, follow other traders and search posts by ticker. Every night the official Ticker&Tape account posts the scan's breakouts and upcoming setups. Posts can be reported and are reviewed by moderators.
A bigger trading school
The trading school now starts from zero, with three new modules (the market from zero, how stocks work, how to trade) and a new one on managing your trading portfolio: 76 lessons in 17 modules, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Every lesson ends with a short quiz, your progress is saved (and synced to your account), and you get a certificate when you finish.
A smarter trade journal
In the Portfolio, record whether you followed your plan and how you felt in each trade. The stats show your results with and without discipline, and by emotion.
Cleaner earnings tables
The annual and quarterly earnings tables under every chart highlight growth with soft tinted chips instead of striped rows, and mark the latest period.
Today on the home page
Home now opens with the companies reporting today, before the open or after the close, and today's economic releases in New York time, plus a new Biggest buys list: the stocks superinvestors bought most last quarter, or the largest insider purchases of the last 90 days.
Fill a watchlist in seconds
Type one ticker or many at once, separated by commas, in the new box at the top of your watchlist. In the screener, Save to list sends every stock of a screen to an existing list or a new one.
Market TV with earnings and news
Next to the live channels, TV now switches between today's macro calendar, today's earnings and the latest market headlines.
More news sources
Market headlines now come from several publishers, including CNBC, MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal, Seeking Alpha, Investing.com and the Federal Reserve, newest first.
Always up to date
When a new version of Ticker&Tape is published, the site tells you so you can refresh, and then shows a short, skippable tour of what changed. After you sign in you now land on the home page.
Insider buys, by who is buying
The insider rankings now separate officers and directors, who buy with their own money, from the funds and companies that own 10% or more of a stock. Insider buys and Cluster buys show officers and directors; the new 10% owners tab shows the rest.
A new look
Ticker&Tape keeps its paper-and-ink style with a cleaner, more modern finish: new type (Inter Tight for the interface, Newsreader for headlines and IBM Plex Mono for numbers), lighter cards and tables, sentence-case buttons and menus, and more room to breathe on every page. Dark mode was tuned for long sessions: deep graphite instead of black, soft white text, brighter grey for secondary text, calmer colors for gains, losses and the heatmap, and status labels that read without glaring. New visitors now get the theme of their device (Settings › Theme › Auto).
Insider buying
Open-market purchases and sales by officers, directors and 10% owners, from their SEC Form 4 filings and updated every night. Every chart shows the latest trades and a green (I) on each day an insider bought; Superinvestors has two new tabs, Insider buys and Cluster buys; and the screener has an Insider buying screen and two new columns.
Alerts on whole lists
In My alerts you can now watch your watchlist, any saved screen or every stock with an RS Rating of 80 or more, and get notified when any of them breaks out above its pivot with volume, gets within 3% of its pivot or falls below its 50-day line. Email is optional and comes as one summary, at most twice a day.
Breakout statistics
A new page, Breakout statistics, shows how every breakout found by the site worked out over the last two years with a simple +20% / −8% plan, by base type, market direction, breakout volume, RS line and base depth.
Recent IPOs and short interest
A Recent IPOs screen for the companies that started trading in the last three years, and short interest and days to cover in the column library.
App-style bar on phones
On phones, a bar at the bottom gives one-tap access to Home, your watchlist, search, alerts and the menu. Dark mode now also covers the trading school, the user manual and the other reading pages.
A clearer menu
The tools are now grouped in five menus: Home, My desk (watchlist, portfolio and alerts), Stocks, Market and Research, plus TV. Each menu shows a one-line description of every tool and its keyboard shortcut.
Dark mode
Settings › Theme: Light, Dark or Auto, which follows your device. The dark theme redraws every chart, table and heatmap with colors made for a dark screen, and it is saved to your account.
User manual
The new user manual explains every tool with screenshots of the live site, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Read it online or download it as a PDF from the help menu (?). The screenshots refresh with every update.
Superinvestors
The new Superinvestors section follows the 13F portfolios of 38 famous investors, from Buffett, Ackman and Druckenmiller to Li Lu, Tepper and Terry Smith: every holding with its weight, what each one bought, added, trimmed or sold last quarter, and the stocks most owned, bought and sold across all of them. Every chart now shows which superinvestors own the stock.
Screener columns your way
The screener has 45 columns to choose from, now including volume, market cap, sector and industry, the next earnings date, P/E and P/S, margins, ROE, debt, net cash, RSI, ADR, ATR and the distance from the 21-, 50- and 200-day lines. Pick them, drag them into your order and save your own views, or start from the Classic, Technical, Fundamental, Volume and Performance views. ETFs moved inside the Screener: switch between Stocks and ETFs at the top.
Command bar and keyboard shortcuts
Press / (or Ctrl+K) anywhere and type like on a terminal: a ticker (NVDA), a function (BRDTH, ECO, PORT, SI) or both (NVDA FA for its financial statements). Press G and a letter to jump to any section, and change every key in Settings. Press ? to see them all.
Market TV
Watch Bloomberg TV, Yahoo Finance, Schwab Network, tastylive and Benzinga live in the new TV section, with today's macro calendar on the side. Pop the player out and it follows you around the site while you look at charts.
Financial statements
The new Fundamentals section has up to 15 years of income statements, balance sheets and cash flows for U.S. stocks, annual and quarterly, straight from SEC filings, plus margins, growth, returns and leverage ratios. Click any line to chart it (revenue and EBIT, cash and debt, free cash flow…), add up to four other companies to compare them line by line, and download any statement as CSV. The Financials button on every chart takes you there.
Trading school
A free course from zero in English, Spanish and Portuguese: 57 short lessons in 14 modules, from reading a candlestick to trends, support and resistance, volume, moving averages, indicators, relative strength, every classic base, fundamentals, the general market, macro, risk management and a daily routine. Every lesson has clear diagrams and live examples from today's market. Open the trading school.
Position size calculator
The new ⚖ Size button on every chart (or the S key) tells you how many shares to buy for the risk you choose: your account, the % you're willing to lose and the stop (7%, 8%, the 50-day line, the pivot or 2× ATR). It caps the position at a share of the account, shows the targets at +20% and +25%, and sends the trade to your portfolio with one click.
Sector rotation chart
The Groups page opens with a relative rotation graph: sectors, industries, styles, countries or your own watchlist moving through the Leading, Weakening, Lagging and Improving quadrants against the S&P 500, weekly or daily.
Install Ticker&Tape as an app
Add Ticker&Tape to your phone's home screen or your computer from the Help menu: its own icon, full screen, and your alerts as notifications on the device, even with the site closed. Turn them on from your account menu.
Build your portfolio in a minute
Don't remember what you paid? Pick the ticker and the date and use the day's average price, the open or the close with one click, or type the amount you invested and Ticker&Tape calculates the shares. Quick build adds many positions at once: one line per ticker, with an optional date and amount. Estimated prices are marked ≈ in the journal.
Portfolio and trade journal
The new Portfolio section keeps your trades and turns them into positions with live P&L, your results for the day, week, month, quarter and year, and a time-weighted chart against SPY, QQQ, IWM, RSP or DIA. The journal records the setup, stop and a note for every trade, and the stats show your win rate, average gain and loss, profit factor, days held, max drawdown and results by setup. Import the CSV from your broker, export your trades any time, hide the amounts with one click, and get an alert when a position falls to its stop. Private to your account.
Macro calendar and Fed odds
The new Macro section lists the economic releases and Fed events that move the market, in New York time, with the latest official values. On top, the odds of a cut, hold or hike at every FOMC meeting, calculated from fed funds futures. The Daily Tape now opens with the day's calendar and The Weekly Tape adds next week's calendar and the Fed odds.
Research: The Daily Tape and The Weekly Tape
A new Research section with short PDF reports. The Daily Tape comes out every trading morning before the open with overnight movers, earnings, yesterday's breakouts and the leaders near a buy point. The Weekly Tape closes every week on Saturday with prices, breadth, leading groups, earnings and the trade ideas scorecard.
Your own indicators
The new Indicators button on every chart lets you set any moving average (SMA or EMA, any length, color and width), add Bollinger Bands, Keltner Channels and an anchored VWAP, and open up to three panels under the price: RSI, MACD, ADR %, ATR and relative volume. You can also hide the data box or the quarterly EPS and sales table, so every chart looks the way you like. Save your setups as templates and switch with one click. The RS line can now be compared with the Nasdaq-100 or the stock's sector ETF.
Drawing tools
Draw trendlines, horizontal levels and boxes in eight colors, three widths and three line styles, with an optional arrow or a line extended to the right edge. Click any drawing to restyle or delete it. Price alerts now work on trendlines too: the alert follows the line as it moves every session.
Comparative charts, upgraded
Each chart can have its own moving averages and volume (the ⚙ next to each ticker). Eleven new presets cover semis leadership, small vs large, offense vs defense, credit, copper vs gold, inflation, cyclicals, momentum, international markets and crypto. In the Performance % view, click any day to start every line at zero from there.
Keyboard shortcuts
On a chart: T trendline, H horizontal line, R box, N note, Delete removes the selected drawing, Ctrl+Z undoes, D and W switch daily and weekly, I opens indicators, A sets an alert, and the arrow keys move through your list.
Comparative charts
Stack several tickers on one timeline, like SPY, RSP and MAGS, or chart ratios such as RSP:SPY. Pick your own moving averages, switch to a performance view, and share any comparison with a link. Open comparative charts.
Cleaner links and new pages
Every chart and section now has its own address, like tickerandtape.com/chart/NVDA/, that you can bookmark and share. New About and Methodology pages explain how every rating is calculated.
Market breadth
Market direction the O'Neil way, with distribution and follow-through days, plus stocks above their moving averages, new highs and lows, the advance/decline line and the McClellan oscillator. Open market breadth.
Trade ideas, earnings calendar and the weekly newsletter
A daily scan for leaders near a buy point, an earnings calendar with each stock's setup, and the Ticker&Tape weekly every Friday after the close.
Heatmap, sectors and commodities
An S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 heatmap that can be colored by RS Rating, and dashboards for sector ETFs and commodity futures on the home page.
Industry groups, chart wall and alerts
Group rankings by relative strength, a grid view of every chart in a list, and alerts on price, trendlines and moving averages, by email and on the site.
Español y português
The site can be used in Spanish and Portuguese from Settings.
